TeleComp Computer Services, formerly Dixieland Computers, of Bentonville, AR, will be moving into a new state of the art technology facility in Bentonville.
Roger Thomas and Gino Capito purchased Dixieland Computers in July of 2003, in which Dixieland Computers had been at the same location for 11 years. However, Roger Thomas, in charge of Corporate Communications for TeleComp Computer Services, stated that this move was inevitable.
"Gino (Gino Capito is President of TeleComp Computer Services) and I wanted to move to a high visibility location, in which we could change TeleComp's image from a computer warehouse, like we occupied on SE 5th, to a high tech 'Silicon Valley' looking store. We're excited about moving into a computer store with a showroom and lab that will be second to none in the state of Arkansas, and rival any other facility in the Southwest Region of the United States."
Thomas added, "There are two reasons that Gino and I went into this venture. We've been looking for a way to combine Gino's computer sales, repair and networking business into my telephone system and cabling company, and we feel this is an excellent opportunity to do so. It's been almost a year since we purchased Dixieland Computers, so the new facility and location is the finishing touch to starting this plan on a long term basis, and now more than ever, we're equipped and ready for business."
TeleComp Computer Services is an Arkansas S Corporation owned by Gino Capito, and partnered with Roger Thomas of Thomas Investments, Inc., dba TeleCompNET, a telecommunications and internet company, incorporated in both Arkansas and Oklahoma, that has been in business since 1994.
Both Capito and Thomas have been involved in the technology industry for their entire professional careers: Capito for 10 years, Thomas for 18 years. Along with specializing in in-house and on-site computer repair, the company focuses on computer and component sales, LAN networking, telephone systems, and telecom lines / internet circuits (DSL and T-1 access). The company has licenses and contracts with Microsoft, Cisco, SBC and Sprint to sell products and services. TeleComp Computer Services also builds customized computers in house, with the application varying based on the user.
Capito said, "Along with locally grown businesses and residents here in Northwest Arkansas, our major customer base are the suppliers of Wal-Mart. Of course, that's normal in this area. These professionals come from all over the United States, and the world really. When they walk into our new store on South Walton, which we strategically located by the Post Office, our objective is that they know they are in a city caliber computer store. And the great thing is that with our expertise of technicians and engineers, we can back the up scale appearance of our store and lab in a technical way, so that these people won't miss a beat when it comes to technology needs even if their not in a major city."
TeleComp Computer Services began business at the new location of 1720 South Walton Blvd, Friday April 30th. The Grand Opening, in which the Bentonville Chamber of Commerce will cut the ribbon on the store, will be Friday, May 16th, from 11am - 1pm.
